MI325X Specifications

The AMD Instinct MI325X is based on AMD’s CDNA 3 architecture, similar to its predecessor, the MI300X, but with significant upgrades in memory and performance. Key features of the MI325X include:

 * Memory and Bandwidth: It features 256GB of HBM3E memory, providing a substantial 6 TB/s of memory bandwidth. This is a ~12% increase in memory bandwidth compared to the MI300X, making it well-suited for large AI models and data-intensive workloads .
 * Compute Performance: The MI325X maintains the same compute architecture as the MI300X with 1,216 matrix cores and supports various data formats, including FP64, FP32, FP16, and INT8, delivering a maximum throughput of up to 2,614 TOPS (tera operations per second) for INT8 operations .
 * Applications: The increased memory capacity makes it particularly useful for running large language models (LLMs) and other AI models that require substantial memory. For example, it can handle a trillion parameter LLM on a single server node, which is a significant advantage in AI and data center applications .
